Description:

Tooth extraction due to various reasons often leads to alveolar ridge resorption, creating anatomical challenges for predictable dental implant placement. Ridge augmentation has become a critical step in restoring the foundation necessary for long-term implant success. This lecture will explore four primary surgical approaches to ridge augmentation: Guided Bone Regeneration (GBR), Block Bone Grafting, Ridge Splitting, and Distraction Osteogenesis. In addition to these foundational techniques, the course will review modified and hybrid methods that have demonstrated clinical success in addressing complex bone defects. Drawing from an extensive series of case studies, the presenter will reaffirm the clinical efficacy of traditional and contemporary augmentation techniques, while introducing a simplified GBR method the DUK Technique designed for efficient, predictable outcomes in daily practice.
