Recent studies have focused on the effect of transmucosal configurations on peri-implant hard/soft tissue responses. The profile angle, as an evolution of the emergence angle, effectively describes both soft and hard tissue behav- ior around subcrestally and equicrestally placed implants. This lecture will explore how placement depth and transmucosal design affect peri-implant tissue health. Clinical guidelines will be presented to optimize restorative contour and placement depth, supporting long-term implant success.
