Description:

This lecture will provide a comprehensive, evidence-based approach to managing patients at high risk for dental caries. Participants will learn modern techniques for the accurate diagnosis of carious lesions and understanding appropriate thresholds for surgical intervention. The course will present a framework for creating individualized prevention plans and explore non-invasive strategies to arrest caries and promote lesion remineralization.

In addition, the lecture will highlight the clinical use of silver diamine fluoride and resin infiltration, as well as the role of bioactive materials. Applications will include their use as liners for pulp protection in deep lesions and as ion- releasing restorative materials that support long-term caries prevention.
