Description:

This interactive workshop offers general dentists an introduction to the growing fields of temporomandibular disorders (TMD) and dental sleep medicine. The program covers foundational knowledge in both areas and includes hands-on training to practice examination and procedural techniques. Designed to spark interest and build confidence, the workshop encourages general dentists to explore these important disciplines further and begin integrating them into everyday practice.

Learn to:

• understand the basic etiology, classification, pathophysiology, and management of TMD
• perform examination techniques for the temporomandibular joint, masticatory muscles, and cervical muscles
• recognize the dentist’s role in screening for and managing obstructive sleep apnea (OSA)
• conduct an oropharyngeal assessment to identify risk factors for OSA
