Description:

This four-hour risk management course has been developed according to New York State laws and regulations. It is comprehensive and meant to provide the most current information on risk management for you to utilize in your practice. Dentists, dental hygienists, and dental assistants will benefit from this course’s legal and ethical information. Additionally, New York State dentists who complete this course will be eligible for a 10% discount on their liability premiums for three years from MLMIC.

• a better appreciation for the importance of proper documentation and record-keeping 
• the importance of informed consent, how to obtain it, how to document it, and who can provide it in particular situations
• an appreciation for the concepts of confidentiality and abandonment

MLMIC Insurance Company, in conjunction with the New York State Dental Association (NYSDA), launched a new Dental Risk Management Program. Building upon MLMIC’s years of risk management and educational experience and designed specifically for dental professionals, this comprehensive program offers invaluable insights and strategies to mitigate risks and protect your practice.

New York State dentists who complete this course will be entitled to a 10% discount on their liability premiums for a three-year period from MLMIC Insurance Company. If you have not completed an approved Risk Management Program within the past three (3) years, you must take this course to continue to receive your discount. At the end of this course, you will receive a certificate of completion to submit to your malpractice carrier. Registrants who complete this course will be entitled to three (3) continuing education credits. Dentists will automatically receive three (3) lecture credits with the NYSDA Continuing Education Registry.
