Description:

This presentation will highlight the most common dental chief complaints, diagnoses, and associated factors observed in a low-income country, specifically Haiti. It will also provide an overview of the most frequent dental diagnoses, chief complaints, and procedures completed in a high-income country, specifically the United States. Special emphasis will be placed on the unique aspects of dental care in low-income populations, including the challenges faced and the adaptations required to effectively deliver treatment in these settings.

 Learn:

• Enumerate the most common, chief complaint, and diagnoses of a low-income population
• Compare the dental service needs of low-income and high-income countries, based on epidemiological data
• Identify the challenges and limitations associated with delivery of dental services to low-income populations in both high- and low-income countries
