DENTAL CARIES AND CHRONIC DISEASE MANAGEMENT

This lecture provides attendees with the most up-to-date information regarding emerging technologies to manage dental caries in practice, including non-restorative approaches. Specifically, the course discusses the science behind MMC and how to approach dental caries management from a chronic disease management mindset.

• describe new caries detection technologies and how they will detect caries lesions at a very early stage
• describe the science of dental caries from early lesions to large cavitated lesions
• understand case selection for early vs late caries disease management
• understand how to create and install a workflow for caries management in practice from a chronic disease management perspective

PEDIATRIC ORAL PATHOLOGY: A CASE-BASED APPROACH

This program covers a spectrum of lesions encountered in pediatric patients, including viral and ulcerative conditions, gingival lesions, salivary gland disorders, reactive soft tissue growths, vascular anomalies, intraosseous lesions, and odontogenic pathology. Each case integrates clinical, radiographic, and histopathologic features with emphasis on differential diagnosis, from common reactive processes to rare entities with systemic implications. Key diagnostic pitfalls and clinicopathologic correlations are highlighted throughout.

Learn to:

• recognize the clinical, radiographic, and histopathologic features of commonly encountered pediatric oral lesions across multiple diagnostic categories
• generate a systematic differential diagnosis based on clinical presentation and imaging
• distinguish between reactive, developmental, infectious, and neoplastic processes that may present with overlapping clinical appearances
