Description:

This seminar introduces laser dentistry and the use of various laser wavelengths in aesthetic applications, with a focus on soft- and hard-tissue recontouring. Attendees learn about the benefits and limitations of different laser wavelengths, laser safety, and laser-tissue interactions. Attendees are requested to bring their own diode lasers, safety glasses, and magnification loupes.

This hands-on workshop is ideal for new or prospective users of diode dental lasers and serves as Module 2 of the 3-part Standard Proficiency Course required for certification by the Academy of Laser Dentistry. The session includes a review of laser science, safety protocols, and clinical principles, supported by micro-videos of standard procedures performed in everyday dental practice. Under expert supervision, participants will engage in extensive hands-on training using diode lasers on animal models, gaining valuable experience in essential laser techniques.

3-PART CERTIFICATION PROCESS: Part 1 - Foundations in Laser Dentistry - Self-paced Online Digital Learning Program (6 CEUs). Part 2 - Hands-on Clinical Simulation & Training (in person) - Provided by an approved ALD Trainer (at the Greater NY Dental Meeting). Part 3 - ALD Dental Laser Standard Level Online Exam.

SUCCESSFUL STANDARD LEVEL COURSE COMPLETION

In order to successfully complete the ALD Dental Laser Standard Level Course in its entirety, you must successfully complete all 3 Parts (as described above) within 90 days of your Part 2 Hands-on course date. After the 90 days have passed, the course will be closed, and anyone who has successfully completed the course will receive their continuing education record of completion and Standard Level Course certificate within 6-8 weeks from that close date.
