Description:

Tooth extraction without grafting leads to a 30–50% reduction in socket volume within 3 to 6 months. This course focuses on atraumatic extraction and socket grafting techniques that minimize flap elevation and maximize preservation of the alveolar ridge. Whether planning for a fixed bridge, removable prosthesis, or implant-supported restoration, preserving bone volume and keratinized tissue is essential. The lecture covers graft and membrane combinations and introduces growth enhancers that support predictable socket regeneration.

Learn to:

review techniques, instruments, and scientific literature related to ridge preservation and post-extraction collapse
understand the dental and alveolar anatomy and physiology relevant to extraction and grafting
compare different types of barriers and their impact on graft integration and healing
