Description

The program begins with how OSA appliances work; various design options and the implications of each design option on delivery, titration, side effects and optimizing patient outcomes are discussed. The critical role that myofunctional therapy can play as part of a multidisciplinary approach to treating sleep-disordered breathing in our adult patients is reviewed. The program also covers how soft tissue dysfunction and oral breathing can be an underlying cause of sleep-disordered breathing for many patients.

Learn to:

  • understand OSA appliances; design implications for delivery, titration, minimizing side effects and optimizing outcomes
  • identify soft tissue and breathing dysfunction in adult patients
  • understand the connection between oral myofunctional symptoms and sleep-disordered breathing symptoms and screening
